(ND 1545 6247) Cnoc an Taillir (NR)
OS 6" Caithness, 2nd ed., (1907)
A small, conical hillock described as a 'Pictish house', but of which nothing is known.
Name Book 1872
Without excavation it is impossible to determine the nature or purpose of Cnoc an Taillir, which is visible as a grass-covered mound 18.5m in diameter by 1.0m high, set about half way up the N side of Sordale Hill. It has the appearance of a cairn.
Resurveyed at 1:2500.

Cnoc an Taillir is a turf-covered cairn, situated on a change of slope in a NW-facing field. It measures 18.5 by 17.0m across and is 1.0m high viewed from the upper side.
