(NC 9767 6504) Pict's House (NR) (Site of)

(Undated) OS map.

When this Pict's house was removed about 1860 nothing of importance was found but some querns, animal bones, and other trifling traces of its inhabitants. A spring in the centre of the building is now drained into the Isauld Burn. No trace of the antiquity remains except a slight inequality of the ground.

Name Book 1873.

No traces of any mound, or other feature, exist at the site indicated on the OS map. The site is occupied by a slightly undulating arable field.

Visited by OS (J L D), 18 May 1960.

No change to the previous field report.

Visited by OS (J B), 8 September 1981.
