St Malie is commemorated in a well, Tobat Malaig, below Melwich. This is probably Mairie, one of the Figg Martyrs, for Mairie naturally develops into Malie in accordance with the Gaelic emphony.

This well, still known locally as 'Tobat Malaig', is a natural spring which issues through a small revetment of dry-stone walling at the foot of a slope.

Surveyed at 1:2500.

Visited by OS (A A) 7 November 1972.

No change to previous field report.

Visitedby OS (J M) 7 July 1977.
