Name Book 1871.

After the death of Earl Adam of Sutherland, Donald MacKay came with a company of men in 1542, burning the village of Knockartoll and plundering Strathbrora. The Sutherland lairds hastily assembled and overtook MacKay beside Aldy-ne-Beth. They made a very sudden attack upon MacKay.
