(NC 5789 6095 and NC 5793 6098) Tumuli (NR)
OS 6" map, Sutherlandshire, 1st ed., (1874)
Two mounds composed chiefly of earth, very distinct but of no great size.
Name Book 1874
Two mounds each about 14ft in diameter.
RCAHMS 1911, visited 1909
No tumuli or cairns were located. At NC 5785 6093 at the south-east base of a prominent knoll is a rectangular enclosure 14.5m by 9.2m consisting of a low turf bank, 0.1m - 0.2m high and 1.0m broad.
Visited by OS (JLD) 21 April 1960
The two stony mounds are probably spoil heaps from a nearby quarry, or alternatively isolated clearance heaps though no cleared ground is in evidence. They do not resemble burial cairns. The "rectangular enclosure" described by the previous field investigator is relatively modern.
Visited by OS (NKB) 10 October 1978
