(NC 5578 0289) Enclosure (NR)

OS 1:10,000 map, (1970)

A large hut circle found during field investigation. This may be the same site as but cannot be certainly identified with it.

Visited by OS (R D L) 26 June 1963.

This is a grass-covered circular stone-walled hut circle, some 12.0m internal diameter now mutilated by ploughing and planted with trees. The wall, at best 0.5m high, is spread to 3.0m broadening to 4.0m at the clubbed entrance in the ESE, with an outer facing of contiguous slabs W of the entrance. There are no traces of associated cultivation. The hut is on the summit of a spur that falls away steeply to the SW.

Visited by OS (J M) 31 August 1976.

Scheduled (with NC50SE 1, NC50SE 13, NC50SE 16, NC50SE 17, NC50SE 18, NC50SE 23 ) as Druim Baile Fuir, stone circle, cairns, hut circles and enclosure.
