NC14NE 2 1591 4544

At NC 1591 4544, on a shelf on a S-facing hillside, is a hut circle accompanied by a minor field system. The hut measures 8.5m to 9.0m internal diameter; the entrance is no longer evident. The hut wall in the southerly half is reduced to an amorphous band of overgrown rubble; in the north, however, it is well-defined with an inner facing of contiguous blocks backed by a turf-covered stony spread 2.0m broad and up to 0.3m high. In the interior a tumble of bare stones would appear to be a collapsed lambing pen similar to one just outside on the east. The minor field system comprises about six heaps of stone clearance in close proximity to the hut; no plots are evident.

Surveyed at 1:10,000.

Visited by OS (J M), 14 June 1980.
