OS 6" map, (1965).
A small prominent rocky promontory. It is connected with the shore by a narrow neck of rock and sand, over which a rude stone bank or pier has been built to accommodate small boats in their landing. The attempt to build a pier has been abandoned. There is no Castle or Fort on it (Name Book 1851).
Thomas calls this site Dun Gormsuil but says he has no information concerning it.

There is no trace of a dun on Dun Gormsuil. The rock has been used as a fishing station and the stone built pier remains, together with traces of a small rectangular building about 6.0m long.
