A barbed-and-tanged arrowhead of black flint, 1" long, found in the middle of St John's Moss, Shapinsay, was donated to the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS) by Col. Balfour of Balfour in 1877. (AD 573)

A barbed-and-tanged arrowhead of black flint (Royal Museum of Scotland, accession no. AD 573) was found 'in the middle of St John's Moss', a name otherwise unrecorded.
