NT 213 401 A small number of test pits were excavated on the site of the lithic scatter identified during fieldwalking last year (Warren 1998). A further 34 artefacts, predominantly of blue southern uplands chert, were recovered as well as a possible anvil. The assemblage includes core scrapers as well as irregular flakes and knapping debris. The site appears to be a Mesolithic activity area of some kind.
