Some 20m W of the summit of Cairntosh Hill a large cairn, which measures 13.5m in diameter and 1.5m in height, occupies an outcrop. There is no visible kerb, but there is a possible drystone retaining wall around the W side. An excavated cist, visible almost centrally within the heap of stone, measures 0.9m from E to W by at least 0.5m.

Visited by RCAHMS (PJD) 19 April 1990.
