Data upgrade in progress.

This list of sites and monuments in the district of Berwickshire has been prepared by archaeological surveyors attached to the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland as part of a project financed by the Scottish Development Department and sponsored by the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland.

The items listed range in period from prehistoric burial-cairns and forts to deserted farmsof comparatively recent date. The following categories have been omitted from the list: buildings eligible for listing by the Scottish Development Department as buildings of special architectural or historic interest under the Town and Country Planning Acts (Scotland); buildings in towns; medieval and later sites in the medieval burghs of Duns, Eyemouth and Greenlaw; roads, railways and canals; most structures of 19th-century and later date.
