Two probable house-platforms are situated on the unimproved slope that lies immediately below the steep crags that form the SE flank of Traprain Law. The larger (SW) platform is oval and measures up to 35m from NE to SW by 10m transversely within a rear scarp up to 4m in height and a front apron along the crest of which is a line of edge-set boulders. This was surveyed by RCAHMS in 1955, as was a band of stone along the SE edge of the NE terrace, which is now difficult to trace (HES: DP250013). The NE platform stands adjacent to its neighbour and is also oval in plan, measuring about 20m from NE to SW by 10m within a rear scarp about 4m in height and a front apron. The platforms, which are probably of later prehistoric or early historic date, may be compared with very similar examples within the settlement at North Berwick Law (NT58SE 10), some 10km to the NNW.
