A number of vessels under the name 'Moonlight' are recorded in connection with the Clyde. The vessel under discussion here was constructed in 1872 and lost in 1877 (information from Canmore ID 218855). There is no record of a vessel under the name Moonlight corresponding with this build-date on www.clydesite.co.uk [accessed 01 December 2014] suggesting the vessel may not be Clyde-built.

Information from Sally Evans (Cotswold Archaeology), 28/11/2014.
