Scope and Content Grovepark Mills, No 188 North Woodside Road, Glasgow These mills were founded in 1857 by Mitchell & Whytlaw, power-loom cloth manufacturers, and enlarged on various occasions between 1878 and 1900. The main range was four-storeyed and attic, built in 1878. This shows the rear of the building, with the boiler house chimney in the centre, and the main engine house to the left. The architect John Gordon designed some of the complex, probably including this engine house. This works was in multiple occupation in 1967, and was demolished in 1969. It was probably the furthest west of Glasgow's power-loom weaving factories. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
