Scope and Content 'Holy Corner', Morningside Road, Morningside, Edinburgh, from the south 'Holy Corner', the junction of Morningside Road, Colinton Road, Chamberlain Road and Bruntsfield Place, takes its name from the churches which are built at its four corners. It forms the start of Morningside Road, and the northern boundary of Morningside. The elegant spire of Christ Church Episcopal, designed by Hippolyte Jean Blanc in 1875-8, dominates the north-west side of 'Holy Corner'. In the foreground is the Classical banking house of the Bank of Scotland, designed by Peddie & Kinnear in 1873. Christ Church Episcopal, one of 'Holy Corner's' four churches, stands on the west side of Bruntsfield Place. The other churches include the former North Morningside Church and Morningside United Church on the east side, and Morningside Baptist Church. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
