Scope and Content Interior of All Saints' Episcopal Church, Inveraray, Argyll and Bute All Saints' Episcopal Church was built in 1866 to the designs of Wardrop & Anderson, architects, Edinburgh. Amelia, Duchess of Argyll, paid for the church. Niall, 10th Duke of Argyll (1872-1949), provided many of the furnishings for the church. The church, built of brick with pink sandstone dressings, has a single-chamber nave and chancel, and a chapel, entered from the chancel. The roof is an arch-braced timber roof of six bays. Arch braces are curved braces forming an arch which strengthen the main frame of the roof. To the right, is the modern vessel for holy water, or stoup, which rests on a flat-topped limestone column, probably of 12th- or 13th-century date. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
