Scope and Content Pullars' Dyeworks, Kinnoull Street, Perth, Perthshire Pullars of Perth were the most celebrated and largest dyers in Scotland for much of the 19th and early 20th century. The Kinnoull Street works was built up from 1865, and covered a large area of central Perth. This view shows a plaque on the Kinnoull Street frontage of the building commemorating the original works of 1843 and its founder. The works gradually ran down from the 1960s, as the dyeing of clothes and furnishing fabrics fell out of fashion, as did mechanical carpet-beating, another speciality. Centralised dry cleaning also succumbed to competition from local units. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
