Scope and Content Boatbuilding yard, St Monans, Fife This boatbuilding yard was established by James Miller and Sons Ltd, and made fishing boats, yachts and workboats of a wide range of types. It was in two sections, the main building yard on the east basin, and a repair slip on the west. This view shows the repair slip in the west basin, with fishing boat under repair. This slip had a weather boarded shed over it in the 1960s. The yard was modernised and extended in the 1980s to assemble large steel fishing boats, but had a short life in that form, and has now closed. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
