Scope and Content Old Town Hall, Leith, Edinburgh The Old Town Hall of Leith still stands at the junction of Constitution Street and Queen Charlotte Street. It was built in 1828 in the Neo-Classical style by the architects Richard and Robert Dickson. The Town Hall is unusual in that it presents very different façades to each of the main streets on which it stands. Today it is used as the Leith Police Station. The Town Hall was newly-built at the time of this illustration, which clearly depicts the wealth and elegance of Leith. Passers-by in fine clothes mix with soldiers, and a beggar waits at the street corner for alms. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
