Scope and Content Port Seton Harbour, East Lothian This is a fishing harbour, rebuilt at the beginning of the late 19th century boom in drift-netting for herring which followed the invention of mechanised net making. It consists of two breakwater piers with angled heads. and a central jetty. This view shows the central jetty, with seine-net fishing boats moored to it. The boats are typical of the period. Port Seton is now the only significant fishing harbour in the Lothians. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
