Scope and Content Benholm Mill, Kincardineshire This is a small water-powered corn mill, two-storied, on an L-plan, with an asbestos-roofed kiln. There were two pairs of stones, driven by a wood and iron overshot waterwheel about 0.75 by 3m fed from a mill dam. This view shows the wheel on the end wall of the mill range. Note the stone-slab piended roof. This mill was still in operating condition in 1974. It was restored and adapted to receive visitors in the mid 1990s. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
