Scope and Content Migdale Mill, Sutherland This was a good example of a rectangular water-powered corn mill, set into a hillside, so that the granary and kiln were at a higher level than the mill, aiding the flow of material. The wheel was of the high-breast bucket type, measuring 0.83 by 3.05m This view shows the mill from the south, with the granary and kiln on the left, and the wheel on the right gable. By the time this photograph was taken all the machinery had been removed from the interior of the building. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
