Scope and Content Kirkton Manor Mill, Kirkton Manor, Peebles-shire Kirkton Manor Mill is a large estate corn mill, much altered and extended over the years. Latterly it was driven by an all-iron high-breast bucket waterwheel 1.22m wide by 4.27m in diameter. There were two pairs of stones. This view shows the water wheel from the downstream side. The sheet iron buckets were unusual for a corn mill. This mill was disused at the time of this photograph, but it was well looked after. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
