Scope and Content Gordon Mid Mill, Gordon, Berwickshire This was one of a series of mills in Gordon parish. It was partly ruinous by the mid 1970s. Its machinery had been removed and it was used as a barn. This view shows the mill from the downstream side. It is typically three storeys in height. The kiln and granary were probably in the ruined section on the left. The rubble revetment on the left supported the lade to the internal wheel. The water power available at this site can never have been very reliable, so this mill was probably closed as such many years before this photograph was taken. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
