Scope and Content Ground plan of An Lag Bho'n Tuath, St Kilda An Lag Bho'n Tuath is a sheltered hollow to the north-east of St Kilda's village containing several drystone enclosures and dotted with cleitean, that is small drystone storehouses. It may have been cultivated since the Middle Ages. This plan shows the layout of the cleitean and of the enclosures. These were probably intended to keep cattle out rather than to pen them in. They may have been erected in the 1830s to provide protection for vegetable plots. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
