Scope and Content Shore Street, Ullapool, Highland Ullapool was refounded in 1788 by the British Fisheries Society who allocated plots and erected a pier, warehouses and an inn. Six years later, local herring stocks vanished and the town's economy collapsed. Its economy revived in the mid 19th century.
