Scope and Content Clay and stud partition, west wing, ground floor, Foulis Castle, near Evanton, Highland Foulis Castle, in its present form, was built between 1740 and 1777 by the Munro family who had owned the land since the 13th century. Parts of its masonry contain sections of an earlier tower-house which existed by 1587. This shows the construction of a clay and stud partition on the ground floor.
