Scope and Content Garden-house, Rosebery House, 9 King Street, Inverkeithing, Fife The name, Rosebery House, commemorates the Earl of Rosebery who bought it between 1704 and 1711, but it was probably built in the 16th century. Extensive 17th and 18th centuries alterations give it the appearance of being a Georgian (1714-1830) building. A lintel over the main entrance of the ruined garden house bears the inscription: 17 J.D.B.F. 17, for the year 1717 and John Dundas and his wife Beatrice Ferguson who received the house from the Earl in 1711.
