Scope and Content Spittal of Glenshee, fermtoun, Perth and Kinross Stretching from the church at Spittal of Glenshee to Dalmunzie are the well preserved remains of a pre-improvement landscape, comprising a fermtoun, a series of farmsteads and extensive traces of former cultivation. The fermtoun is located 200m north-west of Spittal Church and comprises 16 buildings and associated yards. Visible here, are the remains of cultivation, leading up to the head-dyke which divided the grazing from the cultivable land. Recorded by archaeological field-survey in the 1980s, documentary sources mention the lands of 'Spittale of Glensche' in 1542. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
