Scope and Content Balnabroich, standing stones, Perth and Kinross Situated on a slight rise at the north-east end of a plantation and 50m north-east of the steading at Balnabroich are two standing stones. The south stone, in the foreground, is irregular in shape and leans to one side. The north stone stands to a height of 1.35m and rises with straight sides to a flat top. Standing stones are large boulders or stones erected by people in the Neolithic or Bronze Age. Sometimes grouped together to form stone circles, the function of standing stones is unclear. It is likely that they were associated with prehistoric rituals. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
