Scope and Content Old Parish Church, Kirk Wynd, Kirkcaldy, Fife Kirkcaldy Old Parish Church dates from about 1500 when the tower was built. However, the present main block of the church was built in 1806-8 by James Elliot, replacing an earlier structure. The later block with crow-stepped gables and corner turrets or bartizans is in the Gothic style inspired by Romantic ideas about the Middle Ages. It stands next to the genuinely medieval church tower. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
