Scope and Content Cupar Burgh Chambers, Cupar, Fife Cupar Burgh Chambers replaced the medieval tolbooth which the Provost is alleged to have illegally demolished one night in 1810 to improve access to his own property. After the public outcry, he part-funded the new building. The dome and belfry were added by Thomas Middleton in 1819. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
