Scope and Content Temporary camp at Dun, Angus This Roman temporary camp is at Dun. It is a small, roughly rectangular enclosure with rounded corners. The camp was confirmed as Roman after excavation of the outer ditch. It had the typical Roman V-shaped profile, with a square slot at the bottom. This is an aerial view of the site. The camp can be seen as a cropmark near the centre of the image, to the left of the modern road The site has been excavated several times. Most recently was in 1990 when a gas main was scheduled to go through the camp. The E ditch had already been disturbed by a pipeline. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
