Scope and Content Temporary camp at Trailflat, Dumfries and Galloway This small Roman temporary camp is at Trailflat, where it is now partly under the modern farm buildings. It was probably a simple marching-camp and was first recorded in 1983. The camp can be seen as a cropmark in aerial photographs such as this one. All of the SE side, part of the NE and W sides, along with the E and S angles are visible, as are two of the entrances. The camp is thought to have been built alongside the road which led W from Annandale towards Dalswinton. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
