Scope and Content West side of Tanhouse Brae, Culross, Fife Tanhouse Brae leads off from The Cross towards the Abbey. It contains many buildings from the burgh's heyday. The building with the forestair dates from about 1700. To its right is The Tanner's House, probably built in 1664, which must be the reason for the street's name.
