Scope and Content Structural diagram of rigid airship shed, East Fortune, East Lothian The rigid airship shed at East Fortune was built in World War One as part of the strategic network of airship bases thrown up by the Royal Navy to defend the coastline. This shows how each n-shaped transverse frame (1) was connected to the others by longitudinal frames (2) and by stringers and purlins (3) at the corners. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
