Scope and Content Plan of pier-head at quay and parapet level, Port Logan (or Port Nessock), Dumfries and Galloway Port Logan was first developed in 1682. However, the existing remains were built in 1818-20 for Colonel Andrew McDouall of Logan to exploit the Irish cattle trade. The latrine drain (h) empties below the pitched sea-wall (i). The quay is cobbled (k). Steps lead to water-level (o), to the first floor of the light-tower (e), and the wall-walk (j). The sloped or battered walls (p) have clasps for wooden fenders (m).
