Scope and Content Elevation of pier and light-tower, Port Logan (or Port Nessock), Dumfries and Galloway Port Logan was first developed in 1682. However, the existing remains were built in 1818-20 for Colonel Andrew McDouall of Logan to exploit the Irish cattle trade. The stone clasps (m) originally held wooden fenders (n). A stair leads to water-level (o). The wall of the quay is battered (p), which means it slopes inwards. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
