Description Historic photograph. View of ruined interior from W.

Scope and Content View of interior of remains of chapel at Dunstaffnage Castle, Argyll and Bute Dunstaffnage Chapel lies c.150m west-south-west of Dunstaffnage Castle. Dating from 1225-50, it was already ruinous by 1740, when a roofless burial-aisle was added to its east end for the Campbells of Dunstaffnage. This is the interior of the chapel looking eastward towards the chancel. The nave and chancel were originally separated by a wooden screen. The east window (centre) was probably blocked when the Campbell burial-aisle was added. Taken into the care of the Department of the Environment (now Historic Scotland) in 1962, the remains of the chapel and burial-aisle were consolidated between 1962 and 1965.
