Scope and Content Partially reconstructed drawing (looking out) of south windows of chancel in Dunstaffnage Chapel, near Dunstaffnage Castle, at the mouth of Loch Etive, Argyll Dunstaffnage Chapel's original architectural details date it to 1225-50. The burial aisle was added in 1740 when the main building was already ruinous. This was for the use of the Campbells of Dunstaffnage, hereditary Captains of Dunstaffnage castle. The windows rest on the string-course, or horizontal moulding, running around the inside of the chapel, and consist of semicircular-circular inner-, or rear-, arches, framing pointed outer-arches.
