Scope and Content Exterior of south wall of Dunstaffnage Chapel, near Dunstaffnage Castle, at the mouth of Loch Etive, Argyll Dunstaffnage Chapel's original architectural details date it to 1225-50. The burial aisle was added in 1740 when the main building was already ruinous. This was for the use of the Campbells of Dunstaffnage, hereditary Captains of Dunstaffnage castle. This shows the south side of the east, or chancel, end of the chapel. The two chancel windows have been badly damaged. The moulding on the right is the edge-roll moulding from the original corner, and marks the start of the later burial aisle. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
