Scope and Content Temporary camps at Castlecraig, Scottish Borders These Roman temporary camps are at Castlecraig. The larger camp is built on an uneven, narrow ridge next to the Roman road from Newstead to Castledykes. The smaller camp is built on higher ground within the larger. This is an aerial view of the site. It shows the larger camp with the smaller one inside it, at the top end. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
