Scope and Content Temporary camp at Tamfourhill, Falkirk This Roman temporary camp is at Tamfourhill, Falkirk. It is built on relatively flat land, now used as pasture. It may have been a labour camp for the construction of the Antonine Wall. This is an aerial view of the site. The camp can be seen as a series of cropmarks in the middle of the image, just below the modern buildings. The N and S entrances show up as breaks in the line of defences. The site was discovered through aerial photography in 1977. No evidence of the camp remains on the ground. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
