Scope and Content Cross-slab known as St Palladius Stone at Fordoun, Aberdeenshire This cross-slab is in the church at Fordoun. It was found in the earlier church when it was demolished in the 1780s. The stone then stood in St Palladius Chapel before being moved to the rebuilt church. This is a drawing of the stone which appeared in John Stuart's 1856 publication 'The Sculptured Stones of Scotland'. It has an interlace-decorated cross at the top with three horsemen and two hounds below. Under these is a double-disc and Z-rod. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
