Scope and Content Cross-slab from Benvie Churchyard, City of Dundee The Benvie cross-slab stood in a small churchyard along with some fine 18th century gravestones. It is a nice example of late Pictish carving and the slab is decorated on all four sides. It is now in the McManus Gallery, Dundee Museum. This is a drawing of the stone which appeared in John Stuart's 1856 publication 'The Sculptured Stones of Scotland'. This side is carved with as cross, decorated with interlace. Above are two angels, and there are entwined beasts about the shaft. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
