Scope and Content Cross-slab from Benvie Churchyard, City of Dundee The Benvie cross-slab stood in a small churchyard along with some fine 18th century gravestones. It is a nice example of late Pictish carving and the slab is decorated on all four sides. It is now in the McManus Gallery, Dundee Museum. This is a drawing of the stone which appeared in John Stuart's 1856 publication 'The Sculptured Stones of Scotland'. This side has two horsemen carved in relief. Each is set within a frame. Both carry a spear and shield. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
