Scope and Content Symbol stone known as Rhynie 3 at Rhynie Square, Aberdeenshire This symbol stone is one of two that can be seen at the N end of Rhynie Square. The stones are very weathered and only part of the original carvings can be seen. This is a drawing of the stone which appeared in John Stuart's 1856 publication 'The Sculptured Stones of Scotland'. It shows a man wearing a cloak and carrying a spear of staff. The figure may be wearing something around his neck. There is also an arch. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
