Scope and Content Symbol stone known as Rhynie 2 at Rhynie Square, Aberdeenshire This symbol stone is one of two that can be seen at the N end of Rhynie Square. The stones are very weathered and only part of the original carvings can be seen. This is a drawing of the stone which appeared in John Stuart's 1856 publication 'The Sculptured Stones of Scotland'. The two symbols are a vertical double-disc and Z-rod and a crescent and V-rod. Both are quite basic in form. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
