Scope and Content Symbol stone from Daviot, Aberdeenshire This symbol stone was stood by the roadside. It now stands 20 m from the entrance of Mounie Castle, W of Old Meldrum. The symbols are on the NE face. The stone was broken when it was moved. This is a drawing of the stone which appeared in John Stuart's 1856 publication 'The Sculptured Stones of Scotland'. The three symbols are a crescent and V-rod, and crescent and a mirror-and-comb. The comb is single sided. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
